Bake Affair Organic Cinnamon Sugar Scones

It's a question that has divided households for centuries: what do you put on your scones, clotted cream or jam or both? No matter how you love to eat your scones, this mix makes it easy to whip up these classic British treats! Since you never know when you'll crave scones, these can easily be frozen after you've baked them. Simply defrost the scones in the microwave and enjoy!

You'll need:

• 1 mix
• 75 g softened butter
• 130 ml milk
• 2 eggs
• optional: frozen fruit

Baking time: 24 min at 165 ° C (convection)

Instructions:

1. At least 1 hour (2 hours are even better) before you start baking, take 75 g butter out of the refrigerator and let it soften at room temperature. You can also heat cold butter for 30 seconds in the microwave before baking.
2. Preheat the oven to 165 ° C.
3. Open the mix and take out the cinnamon and sugar sachet. Then open the freshness seal and pour the baking mix into a large bowl.
4. Add the softened butter, 130 ml of cold milk and an egg to the mix.
5. Tip: The milk line in the can helps you measure how much milk you need. Mix into a smooth dough by hand or with a mixer for 6 minutes.
6. Knead the dough briefly again on a lightly floured surface.
7. Shape the dough into a circle with a diameter of approx. 23 cm and a thickness of approx. 2 fingers thick. Fruit scones: First roll out the dough into a rectangle of approx. 40 cm x 23 cm and cover it the frozen fruit of your choice. Then fold the dough back together and shape into a circle approx. 16 cm in diameter.
8. Cut the circle into 6 pieces the way you would a pizza. Beat the second egg, the brush the triangle-shaped scones with it. Finally, sprinkle each scone with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
9. Bake for about 24 minutes, until the scones are golden brown. They taste best when they are still warm!
