Description
This is a delicacy that underlines the fine cuisine of the Piedmont region of Italy. The "Martin Sec" is a small, crisp pear variety. The tree-ripened fruits are carefully harvested by hand in the orchards of the Roero and Langa hills. Whole pears are cooked and preserved in a full-bodied red wine along with aromatic spices.
